Trolling Fishing in Gulf Shores for Spanish Mackerel is hot in April

Today was a great day for trolling fishing right off the Orange Beach and Perdido Pass area for Spanish Mackerel.  We kept working our charte boat back and forth right off the beach and stayed in 18 to 23 feet of water most of the time.  The cobia are running so that gave us a sight fish to look for while trolling.  We never did see one, but we did catch a lot of nice 1 to 2 pound spanish.  Our largest spanish mackerel fish was just over 5 pounds.

This family really enjoyed catching them two and three at a time.

We also have a recipe for broiled spanish mackerel for you to try.
