Dr. Phillip Cole's Gulf Shores Fishing CharterDr. Cole's Red Snapper

Dr. Philip Cole came to Gulf Shores today with the expectation of catching some nice sized fish on his fishing charter.   Dr. Cole's father, who is also a surgeon, joined his son for a day on the water.  Philips brother-in-law, Tim was their to join his family also.

We met at the dock this morning with the expectation of having a laid back, Gulf Shores fishing charter.  We left the dock on time and headed south, out into the Gulf of Mexico.  We put the Penn 50 wide trolling reels out with our secret trolling fishing lures.  We were hoping to catch the magnificent King Mackerel on the way to the fishing reefs.

Tim's Red SnapperAfter an hour, we had our first strike.  It was a nice Bonita.   We continued trolling to our first reef.

When we arrived, we positioned the boat over the artificial reef and got ready to fish.  Dr. Cole's group dropped their lines and it did not take a minute, and every light tackle rod and reel was bent over with a fish on.   We caught some nice Red Snapper, but had to release them.

Our charter would not have been complete until we caught a grouper.  We got one, but it was too small and we released him.

We ended up catching a nice mess of Red Snapper, King Mackerel and Spanish Mackerel on today's fishing charter.
