Gulf Shores Bull Redfish Fishing Arrives in October

Chad is a long time customer and friend.  Our intention was to go deep sea fishing today but because of increasing winds and the potential for rough seas, we opted to stay close to shore to be protected from the wind.

The wind was blowing pretty good and the seas were white capping just after we left the harbor.  We had not been trolling long when the Penn 50 went off with the drag screaming.   Chad quickly grabbed the rod and began fighting the fish.   We knew it was a good one but were surprised when we got it close to the boat and saw that it was a big King Mackerel.   King Mackerel stay in our Gulf Shores waters usually until about mid November each year.

We continued trolling until we got another bite.   This time Jason took the rod and reel and began his fight.  After a few minutes, the first Bull Redfish came up gently behind the boat and Lem reached over and put him in the boat.

We continued trolling ended up with a great catch for a 4 hour trip.   3 Redfish and two King Mackerels iis a great catch for anyone.   We are glad the Bull Redfish have shown up.
