Today was a wonderful day on the water. We headed offshore to the Trysler Grounds to catch some fish for supper. We headed out to the natural bottom where all of the White Snapper live. After an hour and forty five minutes of cruising, we dropped our lines overboard into a feeding frenzy of fish.
White Snapper and Vermilion Snapper are the main staple of fishermen that want fish to eat during the Spring Break. Our guest have a lot of fun catching two fish at a time. The White Snapper are actually Red Porgy, but because of the popularity of the word "Snapper," everone calls these little beauties, "Whity" or "White Snapper." One thing for sure, they sure do taste good, no matter how you fry them.
Everyone on board the boat, caught more than they could ever imagine. We caught Lane Snapper, Vermilion Snapper and a few Trigger Fish. Catching two fish at a time that pull in different directions is a lot of fun for the kids. Parents laugh as their kids struggle with the fish. White Snappers are beautiful. We also call them "Blue Nose Porgies" because of their blue nose and the color of their fins.
We really enjoyed watching everyone catch themselves a mess of fish.
