Doug Wood from Plano, Texas brought his sons, Cameron and Nicholas on their first Orange Beach, Alabama fishing charter. His brother-in-law, Mark and son, Jared came in from Grapevine. Mrs. Ann came in from Tulsa.
The morning started out as usual. We were trolling along the gulf shores when we had our first strike. It was a big one. We did not know what it was but they kept on reeling at her. Finally, after an 8 1/2 minute fight, it was a huge 26 lb King Mackerel. He's a monster fish that had some razor sharp teeth.
We trolled further down the beach and found a rip line where we caught our first couple of Bull Redfish. The bullreds were not schooled up today but they did bite. We pulled lures for a couple more hours and ended up missing a couple more.
All in all, we ended up with a fine catch of 3 Bull Reds and 1 monster King Mackere.
