As predicted, the full moon brought the migrating Spanish Mackerel in to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach waters right on time.  We have been waiting patiently for their arrival this year.  These young ladies were ready to catch some fish, so we took them to a deep water hole just outside the jetties and the fish bite was on.

Spanish Mackerel were being caught two and three at a time.  After a short 30 to 40 minutes of catching one Mackerel right after another, we decided to look for a cobia.  The girls went up into the tower with their father to keep a sharp watch for the elusive monsters.  We worked the Orange Beach and Gulf Shores coast line for about two hours and never did see a fish.

Spring Break has been exceptionally great this year.  2011 is shaping up to be the best fishing year we have seen since 2004.  Even though the bag limits are low on some of the species, there are still a lot of fish that can be caught and released safely after you get your picture made with them.
