Waycaster, Mire Family Fishing Charter in Gulf Shores, Alabama

Tim Waycaster and Dr. Blane Mire of Natchez, MsTim Waycaster and Dr. Blane Mire from Natchez, Mississippi came together to bring their children on a Gulf Shores, Alabama deep sea fishing charter.  We met this Memorial day around 8:45 am to begin our saltwater fishing adventure.  The weather was nice.   We had a gentle southerly breeze blowing in our face.   The seas were around 2 feet, which is perfect fishing conditions.

We had a good time this morning with the kids.  Connor, Hannah and Hayes were a real treat to have on board.  We love it Mire Family Fishing charterwhen we get to see kids catch their first deep sea fish.

On the way out, we trolled.   We caught a nice Bonita that Hayes and Hannah took turns reeling in.  After we got the fish in the boat, we took pictures and proceeded offshore.  We rounded up on a fishing spot and the bite was not great.  King Mackerel attacked our baits and cut us off almost immediately.   We decided to move further offshore to see if we could catch some Snapper.  The bite was good.   Everyone had their chance to catch plenty of fish.

The light tackle proved to be a lifesaver for our small anglers.  Each one of them had a blast catching big fish using this tackle.   The dads had an wonderful day catching snapper on light tackle.  It was a treat for Lem and I to be able to share this experience with them.

Mangrove Snapper in Gulf ShoresWe ended up catching a nice Mangrove Snapper, two Bonitas and a King Mackerel for supper.  We released the rest of the fish.

We really look forward to fishing with these families for years to come.  Their kids are good saltwater anglers that I hope to see them again, next year.
